Geoff Knox
Geoff co-founded Portland Advisers and leads its energy and mining advisory business.
Geoff has 40 years’ experience in project finance advisory and lending roles covering a wide range of oil & gas, power and mining assignments in both developing and developed markets. He has advised on deals involving all of the major ECAs and DFIs, particularly SACE, KEXIM, KSURE, US Exim, Euler-Hermes, BPIfrance, UKEF, CESCE, JBIC, NEXI and Sinosure.
Geoff has extensive knowledge of the upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors including multi-billion USD financings for LNG, upstream production, refinery, fertiliser and petrochemical projects. He has advised on major mining projects involving precious, base and rare earth metals.
Prior to Portland, Geoff worked for major project finance houses Chemical Bank (JP Morgan), ANZ Investment Bank and HSBC. He has a BSc(Eng) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London and a Masters of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.
