Harry Philp

Harry has 40 years’ experience in project finance advisory and lending roles covering a wide range of oil & gas, power and mining assignments in both developing and developed markets. He has advised on deals involving all the major ECAs and DFIs, particularly SACE, KEXIM, KSURE, US Exim, Euler-Hermes, BPIfrance, UKEF, EIFO, JBIC, NEXI, CEXIM and Sinosure.

Harry has extensive knowledge of the upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors including multi-billion USD financings for LNG, upstream production, refinery, fertiliser and petrochemical projects. He has advised on major mining projects involving precious, base and rare earth metals and coal, gas and hydro power projects.

Prior to Portland, Harry worked for major project finance institutions on both the debt and equity side, Chemical Bank (JP Morgan) and GE Capital. He has a MA in Economics & Accountancy from Edinburgh University and a Master of Science in International Banking & Finance from Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh).
