Paul Olson

Paul has over 25 years’ experience in project finance in the energy, water, mining, industrial and infrastructure sectors.  He is an experienced financial advisor and expert financial modeller with broad experience in the related analysis of commercial contracts and structures for major projects.

Paul has advised on bid side and procurement side as well as working with major ECAs such as US Exim, Euler-Hermes and KEXIM.

Paul has advised on conventional and renewable power deals, water projects, wastewater treatment, hospitals, schools and  mining projects.

In addition to his advisory roles, Paul also teaches courses on financial modelling and power purchase agreement structures.

Prior to Portland Paul worked for another boutique financial advisory firm as well as working for an IPP developer. He has a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from Bristol University.
